  • The answear why Hamilton is so succesfull is very easy: an all time great level talent and luck. He got into top teams beacuse of his remarkable skills behind the wheel and, in terms of the quality of the cars he drove, he had it easier than any other driver in the history of the sport.

  • This is ebullient commentary thank you. The passion for Formula 1 endures across the world through tough times. For me the evaluation of Hamilton's arc of evolution in F1 to maestro status, is provided by eminent and intrepid motorsport racing analyst, broadcast journalist and historian Peter Windsor. • NEVER FORGET! Toto Wolf: "Michael is one of the founding fathers of the success we have had in the last five years. There is no other driver like him and his vast experience contributed tremendously in the development of our team. He played a crucial role when we re-joined F1 and was one of the people who laid the foundation for our future success. We’re extremely grateful for everything he did for us." Ross Brawn: "Michael’s work ethic, discipline and application just won everyone over. It raised the standard of the team in knowing what they could or should be doing. I think I had an impact but Michael had just as much, even more impact on the team when he came and worked there. Andrew Shovlin said to me, especially when they won their first world championship and I was talking to him about it, he said Michael had an awful lot to do with us winning this world championship."

    • @8PMFORMULA Another strawman. You're repeating yourself in creating stuff that hasn't been said.

      Archie JavorskyArchie Javorsky11 दिन पहले
    • @Archie Javorsky now you are wrong. Mercedes, brawn, wolf, lauder, the 1000 employees, rosberg, Hamilton did nothing. Schumacher did everything and should get all the credit. As a matter of fact they should take away all the 2014 to 2021 wdc and give it to Michael since he is the one driving the car. The should also give him the constructor championship too since he built the card. They should give him all the prize money since he paid all the money for the team budget

      8PMFORMULA8PMFORMULA11 दिन पहले
    • @8PMFORMULA If you actually have read the quotations, you would realise Brawn and Wolff have said nothing about the engine. They've just praised Schumacher for his leadership. And that leadership played a role in Mercedes' succsess, at least according to Brawn and Wolff. Also Schumacher in 2010 convinced the Mercedes' management to invest more money in F1, as Sabine Khem said in Beyond the Grid. The whole "idiots claim Schumacher build the engine" is just a strawman.

  • A lot of people are quite salty with Hamilton whether to consider his achievements are on merit of not. He's without a doubt an exceptional and superb driver. In his 14 years of F1, Hamilton was beaten in the standings only twice throughout his career and he's been paired by the likes of Alonso and Button, which were already world champions! He was second in his rookie season and was only beaten by just one point to the championship. I'm not a fan nor a hater, but even though I myself am bored seeing him winning all the time, the problem is not with him or the Mercedes, is just that the others aren't keeping up with the pace as they should.

  • I see Lewis as an extended arm of Schumacher. When Mercedes reentered F1, they brought all the old guys back together into the garage one last time, to set up everything needed for a successful Mercedes team we see today. Part of that was Schumacher. When the team was build, the older guys gave it to the next generation guys, to go for the titles. That's Hamiltons era with Toto Wolff and so on. So when Hamilton wins his 7th title, it'll be the ultimate success, of what Schumachers team got going.

    Л.С. МотоЛ.С. Мото16 दिन पहले
    • @Jason Kyumba But that was Brawn GP. Ross Brawn then went to Mercedes, to build up their new team, and he called Schumacher up to build that team.

      Л.С. МотоЛ.С. Мото9 दिन पहले
    • You mean Button and Barichello. They were there before Schumacher, they took Brawn GP to it's first and only WC when the team was on the verge of being shut down. So in actual reality it's Button and Barichello 😂😂😂😂

      Jason KyumbaJason Kyumba9 दिन पहले
    • @Ace Boogie Ross Brawn and Schumacher started this team. Without them, they wouldn't not be a Toto Wolff, at least most likely not in such a dominant team. It's likely Red Bull would have dominated this past decade, if Mercedes wouldn't be around. So yes, the team is build on the foundation Schumacher has build with his team. It doesn't take anything from Lewis or Toto. They took it from there.

      Л.С. МотоЛ.С. Мото16 दिन पहले

    • @G G It is very comparable, but the most important thing where is your teammate stock placed are they a former champion, reigning champion, race winner, podium regular, point hauled, or a rookie. Each should weight (value) differently. Why Shoemakker, Max, Alonso, and etc. doesn't immediatelly jump to a proven winning car, easy no sign what was special on them at any of their junior career. Lewis showed how special was he in any of his junior career, even on his kartting days. That's why Ron Dennis leave him a present one day if you diserve you can take it. The man he replace was JPM it was a big shoe to fill. No matter what team you join in, but the stock value of your teammate.

  • Nordschleife. They'd have to change the hybrid regulations or fuel efficiency would be horrible. Unlimited deployment per lap? If they don't...that long straight will take longer for an F1 car than in a GT3 car perhaps :-) Really such an Olympic style race would warrant teams to bring their factory crew and field a 3rd car. Fill the track up a bit. And make it a longer race. 12-13 laps only would be a bit too quick. Because they'd have to use the GP track as well to have a decent pit lane. Or...whole new pit lane at the long straight? Waste of money. Just use the 25km track but do at least 20 laps. Having 3 cars per team will help filling the top-10 by the end. Safety Cars would take forever, extra race distance REALLY needed. Since speeds are so high on the Nordschleife, it might make sense to use harder tyres and lower fuel flow limits. 80L/hr rather than 100L/hr. Makes the hybrid game extra interesting with unlimited deployment. Especially if they'd up maximum MGU-K power from 120 kW to maybe 150 kW using overtake, a maximum of a minute per race, 10 seconds in quali, 1 second per use minimum.
