18-02-1981 న విడుదలై 18-02-2021 నేటికీ 40 పూర్తి చేసుకుంది. యావత్ ప్రపంచ తెలుగు సినీ ప్రేక్షకులు గర్వించేందుకు నాంది పలికిన రోజు, తెలుగు సినిమా అంటే మద్రాసీ సినిమా అనేవారు, తెలుగు వారిని హైదరాబాదీ అనే గుర్తింపు ప్రారంభమైనది ఈ సినిమా ద్వారా నే. భారత దేశంలో హిందీ సినిమాల తరువాత తమిళ సినిమాలకు రెండో స్థానము ఉండేది, ప్రేమాభిషేకం వసూల్ల తరువాత తెలుగు సినిమా రెండో స్థానానికి చేరింది. నాలుగు రాష్ట్రాలలో ప్రేమాభిషేకం(తెలుగు సినిమా) వంద రోజులు ఆడి నాలుగు రాష్ట్రాలలో తెలుగు దనముంది అని నిరూపించింది. దర్శకత్వం అంటే దాసరి, నటన అంటే నాగేశ్వర రావు అనే భావం వచ్చేలా ఈ సినిమా తెచ్చింది. ఈ సినిమా వయసు మళ్లిన వాళ్లలో సైతం యవ్వనం తెచ్చింది, ఆ రోజుల్లో 55 లేక 58 వయసులో రిటైర్‌మెంట్ ఉండేది, సహజంగా 55 దాటిన వారు తరువాత తమకు తాము వయసు మళ్లిన వార్లుగా భావించేవారు కానీ ప్రేమాభిషేకం సినిమా టైమ్లో అక్కినేని వయసు 57, శ్రీదేవి వయసు 17, ఆమెతో “నా కళ్ళు చెబుతున్నాయి నిన్ను ప్రేమించానని” అని పాడుతూ అక్కినేని గెంతు లేస్తూ ఉంటే 18 సంవత్సరాల కుర్రాలనుండి నుండి 60 సంవత్సరాల పెద్దల వరకు ఊగి పోయేవారు. మనుషుల మనోభావాలను సైతం ప్రభావం తెచ్చిన సినిమా ప్రేమాభిషేకం.
