  • F1 is largely irrelevant. There isn’t much real racing. While the focus is on “spectacle”, it’s mostly an engineering exercise with the one or two teams with the funding controlling. There really is no rational reason for the overwhelming majority of sponsors to participate. If the long term, F1 is to continue, it needs to completely revamp itself.

  • Honda's decision only proves the misguided fools at FIA have this all wrong. Whilst you cant argue that the engines are efficient and very smart they are also horribly complicated , extremely expensive, heavy and it has turned this into an engine dominated series. Nobody will buy out Honda, as they have proven themselves these engines are not worth the trouble or expense. FIA/F1 need to make the power units more simple so new manufacturers are able to enter the sport and be able to produce an engine that is competitive in a sensible amount of time. Having only Merc, Ferrari & Renault supply engines is ridiculous. The FIA/F1/Liberty need to actually do something about this. Isn't 6 years of total Merc domination enough ?????

    Lou WieLou Wieमहीने पहले
    • FIA pressed the engine issue. They offered discarding MGU-H, and making MGU-K more powerful. Mercedes forced FIA to reject new engine rule, with Renault's help. Now, FIA punishes Mercedes for every mishaps too harshly. They will ban Hamilton a race for showing their anger.

    • I like your idea, it makes a lot of sense, also it convince me that it will revive the dying F1 Tyre racing muffled sport GP. Because according to the incessant attention to tires compound and wear, the commentators spend more time talking about stupid inert tires than the whole aspects of a race car and its drivers. So to put the matter out of the way I would just go ahead with a single engine for all of them and two tires set for the entire week end.It would dramatically cut costs, and we are going to see 5 or 6 drivers every race capable to win races. But we have a problem, it makes sense, too much sense, and it would make it easy for everyone and for more teams to join in. But those that make these crucial decisions are too dumb to consider it. So after killing half spectators interest with the hybrid very costly contraption, probably they will kill the other half too that pay the stiff price to watch an extremely interesting and folklorist racing day. That without fail will determine the race winner as early as the first lap, except for some very rare occasions. I mean they have made it so deadly boring that I have a very serious problem of staying wake after the first full lap, and if you look yourself around, they manage to put to sound sleep half of the paying spectators too. It is gotten so bad that many drivers to keep the spectator awake very often tend to wire to their pit a non existent technical problem with their cars, which magically fix itself before the end of the race. I loved those beautiful girls that held the umbrellas just before the start of the race, they killed that too, but have permitted a black people organisation made out of hooligans to teach us all that Black ass lives matters more than our white ass lives, the show was so exiting, that if I had the authority I would have called off the race and call the police to question the promoters of the Communists backed event, with full Mercedes team backing, and splurging the money to even paint the racing cars black. How sickening.

Lewis is in the Top 5 of the highest tax paying sportsmen in the world , so he’s no tax dodger. Just check who also lives in Monaco, possibly half the grid & other F1 dignitaries. Our draconian tax laws caused the great Brain Drain & we still haven’t recovered. Senna was a bit before I got into F1, Damon Hill was the reason I looked in on the sport & once he retired, I lost interest. A friend alerted me to a young upstart called Hamilton who I might like to check out & I’ve been following his progress ever since. It’s not cool to admit you follow Lewis & us followers haven’t had an easy ride . I will just add , you shouldn’t punish the brightest kid in class, it’s the others who need to pull their socks up.

I had to laugh when you said I cant beleive i said that That shows honesty !!! If you look at Moto Gp with the absence of Marques it has come alive it really has although I wish from the bottom of my heart for Rossi to win he will not but still the racing is now fantastic !!! I am so pasionate about the sport my views are distorted that I know and i should not let personality get in the way but it does old age does not always mean you grow up or get any wiser ??? Senna has always and always will be my main man He helped his fellow country men/women Lewis has done what they all do and left the country to avoid tax and then comes up with his lates bullshit If so concerned Mr Hamilton come back pay your tax and help the youth using your fortune ie youth clubs outward bound courses etc etc If he is already doing so I appologise !! • You are absolutely right. F1 has become an engine dominated series. You could take a few of the rest of the grid and they would instantly become a genuine contender for race wins. The FIA are useless, Mercedes has completely dominated for 6 years, anyone can see whats going on , yet they still wont do anything about it. We need engines that are simple enough so it entices new manufacturers to the sport and they would be able to have a competitive engine within a reasonable amount of time. The FIA / Liberty are a bunch of morons.

Fiat is only interested in financial terms on the Maranello enterprise similar to what happened to Lancia and maybe Alfa Romeo in the near future. So after the Ferrari trumpets blew their retreat there’s not much sports left for the boys from Stuttgart. The German car industry is getting smaller and smaller which could trigger the Mercedes withdrawal as well leaving the entire F1 circus to Renault. Will F1 be ending up as a one engine for all series of chassis builders only or ...

However I think F1 should focus on an engine format the the worlds top performance cars use today, so that could be V8s. F1 first and foremost needs to entertain so the noise and the smell and close racing is imperative.
