  • Can everyone let go of this fucking tonic? Albon clearly has racepace, and just struggles with a car thats tailhappy on low fuel, wich fits Max more so. Redbull has Said that Albon has amazing insights and is great for developing the car. He was 0.3 off Max qual pace in tuscany, 0.5s of VB. How is that even close to vad?

  • "Vettel's got nothing to prove". TC, are you kidding??? Have you forgotten 2014, 2017 & 18??? What Vettel needs to prove is he can win a championship in a car that isn't the fastest on the grid. That's what Alonso, Schui and Senna did which is why they're respected so much. It's easy to win when you have the fastest car and he did that, just, on 2 of the 4 years (2010 & 2012). Ferrari have rightfully fired him TC. Sorry mate, I respect your journalistic skills (as a regular listen of beyond the grid) but I disagree with you about Vettel. His time at Ferrari has been a failure and that's how history will remember it.

  • The entire RB will repeat this until they got a hold of someone they like, such as Vettel or whoever got kick out of Jordan for Vettel, or Nico Hulk. It will be the same story again. I suspect they will either move Gasly or Kvyat out and place Albon back in Minardi once they found someone they like. It wouldn’t be shocking to me if Albon is moved back to the TR and both Kvyat and Gasly got shown the door and RB promote one of the F2 drivers into the remaining seat. That’s how ruthless Red Bull has been, I expect no less from them.

  • Horner is no fool. no fucking way they fire a thai british driver from a thai sponsored drink company - his marketing value alone makes them more money than max. He can literally drive this car into the wall ten races in a row and he ll have a drive. not that he will- cos he happens to be a talented driver- and very deserving of the spot- but albons value now and in the future- as the only asian driver- far exceeds what he does on the track- in a sport that is madly folllowed in asia.

  • Bunch of BS, he is keeping Albon becuase Gasly is doing too well in AT. If he will bring Gasly now to RBR and kid would have worse results than in AT people would start questioning how is he all the sudden so much slower in faster car. And all of that to create that illusion that Max is so much better than anyone else. After Ricciardo mopped the floor with him for 3 years Horner now cant afford to have another driver beating his golden boy. Anyone that will be Max's teammate at RBR will be given 0.5 sec slower car and inferior strategy just so Horner can prove his point and hope for exchanging Verstappen's contract for Mercedes engine

  • Really like Vettel and Albon. Both talented but definitely not in the right place both mentally and perhaps the wrong team as well. Alex needs to be given more time, Red Bull should come 2nd in the constructors even with him earning just some small points. Hopefully Vettel is reborn when away from toxic Ferrari. I feel sorry for Charles, its going to be tough until the new regs in 2022.

  • Horner is not happy, if they had any option to kick him out, they would have. Truth is they dont have any reliable replacement. (gasly has a blot on the CV. Marko is too proud/egoistic to admit to kvyat he wants him back. F2 drivers are too young/inexperienced). As soon as they find a replacement, alex is out. i like alex as a driver but its difficult days ahead for him. P.S. Ferrari has the strongest F2 young drivers for now. and renault does as well some gems. Yuki would be a good match for redbull with honda japan connection. Mercedes have a strong young driver in F1 being wasted in williams.

      ALNALN3 महीने पहले
    • the issue with gasly was that he wasn't going for it last year, even Horner said he'd rather have him crash the damn thing but to at least go for it. Albon has essentially the same if not slightly better results but you can see the difference in RB gasly as compared to RB Albon albeit them having slightly similar trajectories. Plus Albon is tied for fifth on points with Stroll so he does deserve the benefit of the doubt

      LockdownLockdown3 महीने पहले
  • Has anyone driven a real race car ? If you have you know just how hard it is to set one up. If the chassis has a hairline crack it can effect the way the car handles and it may never be found unless they X-ray it for such flaws. Albon jumped in full tilt and all his handling issues are very real and very dangerous. I believe the chassis is bad on his car but we will never know and Alex will never know either. Sad but true fact. RedBull will not tolerate bad performance much longer from a driver. They would never admit their car has issues. It’s easier to blame the pilots.

He pulled off some of the most amazing overtakes this year. And his race pace is very good, would be better if red bull stopped using him as a test bench to find the right strat for Max.

  • Christian Horner: 2016 - "We're backing Kvyat" 2018 - "We're backing Hartley" 2019 - "We're backing Gasly" 2020 - "We're backing Albon" Let's be real for a second though, not a single one of the drivers they had in the past 5 years (apart from Ricciardo, to some extent) is even remotely as good as Verstappen is. So it seems the second seat at RB is pretty much cursed (ever since Vettel/Webber days, come to think of it), just like the second seat at Mercedes. While that works for Mercedes, who are ahead by half a second to a full second to the second fastest car for 6 years now, RB needs both drivers to be extremely good to try and grab as much as they can. And so the cicle continues.
