Those giving negative comments about this movie, First understand the movie. The character yogi Babu is an orphan. He doesn't even have a name. He grew up in the village eating the food that people gave him and does small works for them to earn money. He doesn't have a house or saloon. He is living under a baniyan tree along with his assistant kirutha. He is so innocent and pure hearted that he doesn't want to leave the village just because his father had a dream to have a own saloon. So he is saving his money and living like a beggar just to fulfill his father's dream. (His money saved in banyan tree is stolen by village person). The village people are divided into two groups (caste) and always fighting for everything. So sangili murugan has married 1 woman from both communities to bring unity. But still the 2 communities are fighting with each other. Due to their stupidity they don't have water facility, road facility, school for children, post office etc. They don't even have a toilet. The women have to go to field for toilet at night. Somehow they build a toilet but due to their stupidity to show superiority they fight and destroy that single toilet too. The movie is trying to show the foolishness stupidity of people who fight even for a toilet. Such foolish people will treat everybody else (other than their community) badly only. So they are ill treating yogi Babu because he is poor and doesn't belong to their castes. This is not to defame barber community but to show how foolish that village people are. When yogi Babu vote is important to win the election first yogi Babu is happy with whatever he gets. later wants to escape but gets caught and beaten. one night a girl comes to field for toilet. She requests him to use his power and tell drunken men to stay away at night. That time yogi Babu realises that he has the power to do good things for the village. So he builds toilet, roads, street light, school, drinking water etc. The villagers have understood that yogi Babu has done good for the village. The same people who ill treated him will join together to save him in the climax. The person who stole his money will also return to him after realising his mistake. They have understood that the same caste people did not help in their development. But yogi Babu who is an outsider has helped them with bring essential facilities for their development. They should focus on development activities instead of fighting in the name of caste superiority. This is the story. They have not degraded barber community. But trying to show how stupid castist people will suppress poor innocent people like yogi Babu who doesn't have any background or support. The shame is for such foolish castist people only. Not shameful for poor yogi Babu who Inspite of being poor has helped the village in return. People like you will give big speeches but will never give respect to sweepers, cleaners, servants, labourer, poor farmers or poor people. If you really want to do anything then help the economically poor people in the society. Lastly the movie is a political satire movie. So the humour will be like that only. E.g. villagers call yogi Babu as "illicha vaayi" but the truth is that the villagers are the real "illicha vaayi" really they are the "poochandi" who threaten innocent people. This is called satire humour. The movie is excellent. People should stop voting for the 2 dominant rich parties who are fooling people. They should vote for new people or independent candidate who is dedicated to do service to public. This is the hidden message. Purinja sari.
Can vote change our life?. Absolutely yes. I had seen my district 20 years. But I realized through this movie, the vote is changed everything. Caste issues.. Respect.. And so on.
