  • To be honest it a pretty pointless video as you can argue the same for most drivers. I think if you did a video on how many he won because of other drivers misfortune, that would be a lot more that 7. He’s probably picking up about 10 wins just from McLaren’s unreliability between 2000 to 2006.

  • French Grand Prix 2000 he had an engine failure for the first time ever after getting beaten by the mclarens including Coulthard who gave Schumacher a middle finger possibly not happy about him pushing him wide at the Adelaide hairpin before DC had him in his sight and pushed him off wide and then coulthard pulled away from him and then seconds after that hakkinen followed Coulthard through and Schumacher was hanging on in third before the engine let go on him

  • Michael Schumacher is in a league of his own. Let us not forget about his race wins and championship that were lost with the Ferrari outright brake failure which led to serious injury with near career ending fractures in both his legs! He declined the offer to drive for the then dominating Mclaren Mercedes saying " no thanks I want a challenge ". This led to 4 more years of lost championships and many race wins as he worked with Ferrari to get them their first WC in 20 years. Go back and watch the races of Schummi manhandling that Ferrari that was all over the track and had no handling to speak of ,and still he won some races! The fire in the pit lane is another example. Then something that is not mentioned. During Schumacher's peak the dominating cars were the Williams with the active suspension and then the Mclaren Mercedes. Inspite of these technical dominating cars, he still won races and World championships! For Lewis Hamilton to achieve this status he would have to win against his own works Mercedes in a car like the Red Bull. Only then would I consider him as one of the real greats! Some food for thought.

  • Lewis would won 8 drivers champion. He lost it in the pit lane in China 2007

  • Lewis Hamilton's lost races: 2015 Monaco - Team Pit him while in the lead, they didn't know what the gap was and threw away Hamilton's win, finished P3. 2007 China - Team left him out to dry while being in contention for the race win and with extremely worn tyres put it in the gravel on pit entry. 2018 Australia - Leading comfortably untill a VSC allowed Vettel to pit and come out ahead by less than a second. 2016 Malaysia - Leading by over 25 seconds and gets a engine failure 14 laps from the end. 2010 Spain - Puncture while leading the race comfortable and DNFed. 2020 Italy - Leading by over 15 seconds with his teammate down in sixth, team does not tell him that the Pit is closed and gets a 10 second stop go, comes out at the back and comes back to finish P7. 2012 Singapore - Dominating the race until his gearbox fails. 2012 Abu Dhabi - Car problem while leading the race, took pole and was looking good in the opening laps. 2008 Spa - Won the race, he cut the chicane because of a slippery surface, let Kimi through and then re-passed him, and even though Kimi crashed later in the lap they gave him a 20 second time penalty to give Massa the win. 2017 Baku - Vettel behind has a 10 Second Stop go penalty and is around 10 seconds ahead of a slower Riccairdo, he's headreast brakes or something like that and is forced to pit to replace it. A couple more but enough to go above 100.

  • Well, give Schumacher cars as realibale as they are now in the 90s, seasons as long as the ones we have now (extra 4-6 races), remove his race bans and the fact he missed half a season due to his broken legs, and you get probably an extra 30 wins for him. You can't compare those 2, Hamilton has spent more time in a dominant car due to seasons being longer, and his retirement rate is nowhere near Schumacher's as reliability was still a massive issue in the early parts of his career And I won't even mention the likes of Prost and Senna if you count out all the reliability related DNFs or lost wins Don't compare drivers from different eras and sometimes within a same time span

  • Schumi could've won the 99 championship if hadn't broken his leg. If Ferrari hadn't pushed him out, he probably would've won 2007 & likely 2008. What-if history is interesting, but doesn't shy away that (even as a Schumacher fan) Hamilton now has the highest number of victories.

  • Well Schumacher as you said had not only a victory taken away in 1994 (I wounder how HAM would react if that happened to him) and a two race ban this season he also had a serious accident in Silverstone 1999 in which he broke his leg. Considering the fact that Eddie Irvine was a championship contender until the very last race that year Schumacher could have easily won the championship in 1999 and acquired more victories.

  • You didn't emphasise how much his 1999 crash cost in terms of victories, and the stupidity of the 1994, 3 race ban of which 2 of them could have been won, all over passing Hill on the Warm-Up lap for the British GP, besides the Stewards handed down the blag flag penalty illegally at the British GP anyway. Schumacher held the incredible statistic at one time of having won 10% of all the Grand Prixs ever held in F1 history. I figure Hamilton will have to win more than 105 to equal that.

  • Michael was the best, hands down. Schumacher could´ve easily won his 8th championship back in the day if he were a bit more "lucky" ... this Mercedes era was basically never under threat, only Nico, another Mercedes Driver, contested Hamilton´s dominancy. And the fact, that Schumacher himself helped getting Mercedes where they have been in the last years only adds to the fact that Hamilton, although surely one of the better drivers in F1 History and standing out in several categories, basically got lucky making the right move to a team which was never ever really under threat of losing a championship up until now. When was Hamilton's last DNF f.e.? Reliance in F1 is a whole other animal compared to Schumacher´s era, as well as safety ... as we all know, sadly. So, there is simply no comparison between Hamilton and Schumacher ... it´s not Hamiltons fault to drive in the modern F1 era, but what the ancients already knew: "Excellence withers without adversity". Simply put, if you don´t have real competition it just takes away from your "success". On a personal note, I don´t like Hamilton´s attitude. He comes off like an "ungenuine" guy, at least to me. Especially since he decided to go for "gangsta rap" looks and extremely controversial political views (while simultaneously infusing F1 with it, which no one needs or wants). Also, like Montoya indicated a couple of years back, Hamilton is pretty unstable under pressure. He also doesn´t really know how to drive under precarious circumstances for a long period of time, while still keeping one´s cool. Montoya added, at the time, that Vettel and Alonso were the best in his view. I think that the Interview was in 2017 or so. Nevertheless, of course, you have to get the car over the finish line in order to win. So, I´ll give Hamilton that. But, again, Hamilton and Schumacher can´t be compared (seriously). They are simply existing in different universes and you can´t measure that by counting Race wins. It´s about the whole 9 yards.

    Elvis PelvisElvis Pelvisमहीने पहले
    • Elvis, it must be very hard and depressing being you. Even when you try to applaud Lewis you sound so hollow because you already divulge your true intent. Gangsta Rap and extreme views? We are talking about Motorsport. What lifestyle the man chooses to live is not you damn business and by the way who died an left you king on lifestyles. And while we are at it explain to me what is extreme about asking each other to value others existence. In case you are not aware, most people respect those who speak what they believe than conniving liars hiding behind subtle veneer of praise meanwhile their intent is obvious for all to see but them. Please be honest with yourself first and trust me it is very cathodic.

He went through 2 stops stuck in 5th. The gearbox stuck in 5th coming up the hill right before the chicane. You see him hit the auto down button and it never shifts down going into the chicane.
